Rev. Matthew H. Williams
Bro. M was born in Cleveland, Tennessee
in the summer of 1972, and grew up as the son
of Baptist pastors. Matthew met his wife Lea Ann in middle school (But they did not marry until they were both out of college! Just in case anyone was wondering!) after his father began serving as pastor at a church
in Russellville, Kentucky
, where Lea Ann and her family had attended since she was a child. Graduating from Russellville High School
, he attended Georgetown College
in Georgetown, Kentucky, graduating in 1994 with a degree in Biology and Chemistry. The summer after graduating from college, he and Lea Ann were united in marriage.
Realizing that God's plan for his life was to serve Him in leading the church and preaching the gospel, Matthew began his ministry journey with the Lord at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church
in Lewisburg, Kentucky as their part-time Minister of Youth. Since that time he has served on staff and as pastor of churches in Dry Ridge
, and Murray, Kentucky until joining Earlington First Baptist as their pastor in October of 2011.
Matthew recieved his Master of Divinity degree in Missions, Evangelism, and Church Growth from the Billy Graham School o
f the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
in May of 2010, and is working toward his Doctor of Ministry
Matthew and Lea Ann have two precious children, Isaac (15) and Elliana (9). Isaac was a true "miracle" after 10 years of desiring a child, and Elliana was a true "miracle" through the gift of adoption. Both are amazing members of Matthew and Lea Ann's family.
Bro. Matthew's heart is for those who need the life changing message of hope and delieverance that is the gospel message, and to build up those who have experienced this life change. He is convinced and convicted to minister to those whom God has placed us among here in Earlington and the surrounding areas. While at the same time, he is a strong supporter of and participant in regional and far reaching mission work. Believing we are to be SALT AND LIGHT wherever God places us, he is leading us to continually "Live out the Love of Christ" through SERVING, SHARING, and CARING so that others may experience first hand the life changing love of Christ.
